-
Bring your own laptop computer with VGA 15-pin HD female output.
-
Arrive at the session room 30 minutes before the session begins to connect your laptop.
-
If you own a mini laptop with a special interface cable that attaches to the video output, you must bring this cable to the meeting with you.
-
Set the maximum output resolution to XGA. The data projectors in each room have a native input resolution of XGA (1024x768) and will support 24-bit color as well as the following resolutions: VGA-640x480; SVGA-800x600; XGA-1024x768; and SXGA-1280x1024. The use of a higher resolution will force the data projector into a compression mode and some information will not show on the screen.
-
Set the image to the external VGA port of your laptop (instructions will be in your laptop manual).
-
Configure the laptop to prevent it from going to sleep or switching to screen save mode during your presentation.
-
Use text that has a high contrast from the background image and use a plain single color background. White letters on medium or dark blue backgrounds increase visibility.
-
Do not use black letters on a dark background.
-
Avoid using red and green next to each other.
-
Avoid using drop shadows.
-
Graphic or written tabular material should be of adequate size but should not exceed 6 lines of bold print.
