| Abstract Submission > Rules & Guidelines
- You may be FIRST AUTHOR of more than one volunteered
scientific paper provided that each submission represents
distinct research. Note: If you are NOT a member of The Protein Society, you must have a member
sponsor your abstract. If you plan to submit more
than one abstract, you will need a different member to
sponsor each abstract. If you do not know a member
of The Protein Society, please contact the Executive Officer
of The Protein Society via email at cyablonski@proteinsociety.org You may also become a member of The Protein Society

- Only the first author may present the paper,
unless prior approval has been received from the Executive
Officer of The Protein Society via email at cyablonski@proteinsociety.org.
The first author must find a replacement speaker if more
than one of his/her abstracts is programmed at the same
time.
- With regard to research using human subjects, The Protein Society endorses the protections embodied
in the Basic Principles of the Declaration of Helsinki
and their expansion in the regulations governing research
supported by the U.S. Government (45 CFR Part 46; 56 FR
28003). The Protein Society does not endorse and will
not publish the results of research that was not conducted
in accordance with these Principles. Investigations involving
animals reported in abstracts must have been conducted
in conformance with the FASEB Statement of Principles
for the use of animals
in research and education.
- In submitting an abstract, you agree to the following statements: (1) That all material is the work of the authors or that other work is appropriately referenced; (2) That all authors are aware that their names will appear on the abstract; (3) That if the abstract is accepted, the Protein Society will hold the copyright.
- While it is rare for a submission not to be
programmed, The Protein Society reserves the right, at
its sole discretion, to decline any abstract viewed as
inappropriate.
- Unpublished data will be accepted.
