Call for Proposals - TPS Webinars
The leadership of The Protein Society (TPS) believes that the dramatic changes in how we are living and working call for new approaches to scientific engagement. While we had to cancel our 2020 World Conference on Protein Science, we are committed to offering new online, interactive resources that are relevant and beneficial to our members and the field of protein science. As a complement to our traditional Symposia, TPS Webinars are a forum through which we can deliver much-needed, popular protein science topics to you.
We are proudly issuing a Call For Proposals for our members to develop and host virtual workshops with TPS logistical support. We will offer these webinars over the course of 10 - 12 months. TPS webinars are free to attendees, will feature Q&A, and are open to all – with priority registration given to our members.
If you are interested in planning a workshop please review the guidelines below and submit your proposal here.
Submission Guidelines (required information):
ORGANIZER: Your name, professional position, and contact information (including social media handle).
TITLE and MOTIVATION: A title for your proposed workshop, and 1 - 3 sentences describing why you think the topic is exciting and timely for TPS members.
SPEAKER LIST: Please list title, name, affiliation and a link to your lab/webpage. Your webinar should feature 3 - 4 speakers. Speaker lists that reflect the diversity of individuals in protein science will be viewed most favorably. You can elect to speak yourself, or you can serve as the organizer (host). Speakers will have up to 30 minutes for their presentations and 5 minutes for Q&A; you as the organizer can allocate time. Please confirm the willingness of your speakers to present before submitting your proposal, and include 1 - 2 backup people in case of scheduling difficulties.
TIMING: With input from your proposed speakers, please indicate a few preferred months between August 2020 and June 2021; the timing of the webinar will be determined jointly with TPS.
OTHER: Only members can submit a proposal. Speakers are not required to be members. TPS will advertise and promote the workshops, manage registration, and host the virtual meetings.
